Electromagnetic radiation is the transfer of energy via a transverse wave. In order of decreasing wavelength, EM radiation is either radio waves, microwaves, infra red, visible light, ultra violet, X rays or gamma rays. These forms of radiation are all part of a group called the Electromagnetic Spectrum.
